It is easy to come and join us, either as a visitor or as a full member.
As a visitor, just come along on any Monday evening when we have an event planned (all Mondays except in July and August or Bank Holidays). The evening begins at 8pm (we do ask that you arrive by 7.45 to allow everybody to be seated before 8.00pm) and we usually finish around 10pm but occasionally may be a little longer when there is a competition being judged.
There is an entry fee for visitors, which is £2.50 for Adults with a reduction to £1.50 for Students. As a potential new member, we suggest you visit us a couple of times before joining and our members will be very happy to explain how the club is run and to introduce you to fellow members if you wish.
If you do decide to join as a full member, there is a very simple enrolment form to complete and a yearly subscription. The current annual subscription is £35 p.a. which works out at less than 90p per week (concessions for over 65's at £25), then a £2 admission fee for each week that you attend a meeting. There is also a concession rate for Students up to the age of 18 (must have a Student Card) of £17.50 p.a. (half the price of a full adult Membership) and just a £1 entry fee each week you attend.
Download the membership form here and return the completed form to our memership secretary on a Monday evening.
All work for the Society is carried out by volunteers so all subscription money and admission fees goes to help pay for the room rental, insurance, guest speakers, judges, presenters, equipment and any administration materials.
As a member, you will enjoy a full programme of events throughout the year, a chance to enter our friendly competitions to win certificates and trophies, attend our separate workshop evenings (Tutorials, Photo-shoots etc) as well as gain discounted purchases from our local business sponsors.
We also enter other local, National and International Competitions and Exhibitions, where your work could be entered if you wish.
If you have any other queries or questions, either speak to one of us at a Monday meeting, or speak to us us via our 'Contact Us' link.
