Kettering & District Photographic Society was delighted to hold an exhibition as part of Kett Fest 2015 – an arts and culture festival in Kettering from Friday 5 to Monday 8 June 2015.
We were also privileged to use a stunning space at The Yards – a maze of old workshops and buildings being refurbished to become a bistro and craft, book, furniture and vintage clothing shops amongst other things, with a definite emphasis on the arts.
KDPS has regular competitions and some superb photographers so had a wealth of photographs to choose from but only a few hours to select the most appropriate images for the space; to frame them and to hang them! It was a mad dash in the end, with the team all working hard to get finished – even though the old walls meant many bent nails!
Six other artists exhibited plus stalls, an electronic music stage and graffiti artists, so there was a great atmosphere. We had more than 300 people come and see our photographs and we really enjoyed the day.
KDPS will be holding our own exhibition later in the year in a venue big enough that all members can show their best prints, and our digital images will be projected onto a wall – watch the website for more news of where and when!
